About the Experience

Arrows don’t just grow on trees you know? They need to be carefully produced to set standards in a time before modern power tools. With a nation of archers and the best being conscripted to the King’s armies, an arrow can be the difference between life or death, a successful hunt or a hungry night. With three million being ordered for a campaign, it was a long task for the Fletchers of London, lead by the Guild it was a production line of Apprentices through to Masters working to produce the the highest standards.

Journey with us to that simpler time and Master the skills of the Medieval Fletcher. With an experienced teacher you will start with a square piece of carefully selected wood and by hand you will plane and shape the shaft learning the different tapers used by archers on the Mary Rose.

Using a natural piece of cow horn to reinforce the nock you’ll move onto the art of fletching with a traditional compound, carefully binding feathers with find silk into the mixture before reheating and cutting to shape.

At the end of the course you will have 2 different historically correct arrows!

This course is excellent when combined with arrow smithing!
